Another Sabbath, Another Sausage



We celebrated the day of rest by stripping the form, separating the 2x6's from the form ply, and making piles of form ply. Tidy tidy tidy. "Aint no one so poor they can't push a broom" is a favorite. "Time to lean? Time to clean!" is another.



It has been raining off and on since the pour. Not only has the moisture and humidity helped the footing to cure slowly, but it has supercharged the surrounding plants. Who doesn't love plants?







Tomorow there is a trip to the big city to get and return various concrete related items (as well as some fish sauce. The next few days after that promise hours and hours fun with a pick, a shovel, a wheel barrel and our old friend the plate tamper.

Hey, if you're in Oyama and you're reading this and you don't have anything else going on in the next week and/or have a burning interest in rammed earth construction, come on down and help us shovel a hundred yards of 3" minus into the inside of the house. It's a great way to learn about rammed earth, I'll tell you what!
