We were so smitten with our new digs and so overwhelmed by the enormity of everything STILL UNDONE, that we took the needle off the record to contemplate our new surroundings, grey hair and empty pockets. Apologies to our devoted readership, but now that it's just typical home finishing stuff to be done, we don't feel very newsworthy in our progress here. If nothing else, we promise more frequent dog photos.
This, a pallet upon which Honda ATVs are delivered to dealerships

begat this, a stair rail conceived of and realized by our neighbor Jim. Special care was taken, as per code requirement, to insure that no baby's head shall pass through these rails! The short segment in the middle is removable in case we have to bring something unwieldy upstairs.

These were from salvage of course. If you find clear ones, snap 'em up, they don't make 'em anymore.

As has been the case with process/product monopoly 'solutions' to make life 'easier' through systemization, we have experienced a tremendous amount of agita with the Pittsburgh Owen Corning Glass Block Installation Gospel. Where are the instructions that tell you how to make it look old fashioned without plastic doo hickeys?
